Meditations

I am reading books nowadays, extensively.

This one book I came across recently is beautiful, “Meditations” by MarcuIMG_20190226_150910s Aurelius!

You will be stunned to know that Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor some 2000 years ago. And, he practiced whatever he preached or spread among his people.

In this wonderful book that is a collection of all his preachings and revelations, Marcus shows us how to capture our desires and emotions through continuous vigil and watch of each one of our actions or thoughts and through impartial analysis of the goodness or badness of each such action or thought.

Marcus defines good acts or thoughts are those that contribute to or result in the welfare of the society and not for one’s own self.

If I perform an action or even feel something to do, I should first consider whether it contributes to the betterment and happiness of people around me. Then only I indulge in that action or perception. Otherwise, discard it.

He reminds us continuously in all his preachings that our body is just temporary. It can perish at any moment. So, one should always live in his present moment and try to use his body for performing a good job.

He always believed that God gave us this body only for carrying on his mission of keeping this universe wonderful and beautiful for all his living beings alike. So, men are provided reasoning power and the body to perform his work on his behalf. He provided us with the hands and legs and the brain for all this mission. So, carry on the mission at each moment of your life as you may not know when you will die and leave this body.

It is a very interesting book to read and to know the purpose of your life. But, you need to digest each sentence of it before proceeding further. Make up your mind to get to dive into this wonderful knowledge of the purpose of life. It is a very short book of only 62 pages. But, full of Gems.

Spiritual Life and Karma

Most people assume that spirituality or leading a spiritual life implies renunciation of the worldly life and leading a secluded life by refraining from all your worldly responsibilities.

But, it is not so in my opinion. I do not recommend that kind of life escaping from all your responsibilities and seeking the refuge of spirituality.

One should live in this world as it is the basic purpose for which you came into your existence as a human being.

A human is created to live in this world and perform his karma.

If we negate that primary purpose of our life, then there is no meaning in ourselves being called as human beings.

God wanted us to be humans and created us to be human. Being human implies spreading humanity through all your actions.

If you renounce your actions and go to a secluded place and seek for God, does He appreciate you and gift you with your desires?

Live in this world, do all the actions that are required to execute your responsibilities as a child, as a parent, as a friend, as a responsible member of society, and overall, as a human being that is qualified by love, kindness, humbleness, care, and generosity, etc.

So, let us live here in this present world that requires all the love, care, and protection by performing our duties that always do good to people and contribute to the welfare of the universe as a whole.

Let us see God in each one of us. Let us love and respect each other and their feelings.

Come, spread peace and love and thereby please our Universal God.

Your Karma Decides Your Results

Whatever you do or ponder upon that is important.

Your actions and thoughts give you the results and lead you to your success.

Nothing other is important here. You can’t blame other people or circumstances for your failures. Because everything has some solution if you can analyze the problem or the situations hindering you. Nobody is responsible for your situation. They can only guide you or hinder you, but can never prevent you from reaching your destination.

So, we need to be clearcut in our opinions and goals and implement them through our actions with sincere efforts and good planning.

Let us learn from our mistakes and become more smart and wiser day-by-day. Do not be afraid to commit mistakes. Because only if we act, can we learn things. Otherwise, we can’t learn anything.

But always remember that good actions result in good results and bad actions result in bad results.

It is that much simple. Your Karma decides your life.

So, let us try to be honest and sincere in our thoughts, plans, and actions to improve our lives.

Seeds for Success

There are some simple and beautiful seeds that need to be sown in your body and mind to be successful in your life.

They are:

  1. Confidence
  2. Faith
  3. Determination
  4. Willpower

Confidence

Your confidence is your strength. Keep confidence in your capabilities. Everyone is gifted with tremendous powers. Only you need to recognize those powers or skills and abilities that are hiding in you. You need to bring them out with your confidence. You should get rid of fears and doubts. Never give in to discouraging thoughts or the people discouraging you.

Faith

Faith is both in your own self as well as God and the people in your company. Confidence is mental power whereas faith is somewhat like the spiritual strength that you gain. You may need to judge what is good or bad or what is reliable and unreliable in doing so. Faith gives you the moral strength for reaching your goals.

Determination

This one is making your plans and fixing your goals in your life. You should first know what do you want to achieve. Once you are able to choose your aims and goals of life, you need to make a firm decision and determination to pursue those goals. You shouldn’t waver in your thoughts or actions. Be well prepared and determined.

Willpower

This is the underlying force for your success. You need the willpower to bear all the pains and problems being faced by you while you are pursuing the goals. You should not leave the path afraid of the problems. Go on walking through your path till you reach the success. It requires much strength both physically and mentally that can be possessed by you through the first three steps.

So, go on your journey without losing the hope. The Supreme Being is always there to support you, whoever puts his sincere efforts in his actions.

What is Happiness?

Happiness is the inner feeling in our hearts that keeps us in a pleasant and joyful mood.

It has no monetary value. It’s par all material enjoyments.

Most people generally believe that material success brings them happiness. Happiness, for most of them, means having a good job or business, living in a comfortable house, possessing all comforts of life.

But, it is not so. Even after possessing all the wealth and other comforts or luxuries of life, one may not find happiness in his life. All that can only lead to a more complicated and worrysome life. You are always worried of your position and assets of life. You can’t live as you wish. You always feel compeled to act in a restricted way to maintain your position and everything. So, that can’t provide you a happy life.

On the other hand, even a poor man dwelling on the pavement can feel vey happy in his life because he is free to live under the sky enjoying the fresh air and consuming whatever he gets from the nature and from the generous people around there. He has nothing to worry for in his life. So, he lives the most satisfied life if he keeps away from other distracting factors.

So, we are able to see that Happiness is not a result of wealth and material possessions. It is the result of one’s own satisfaction and joyful mentality.

Let us all try to refrain ourselves from running after those material possessions of life and be content with whatever is enough for our real existence on this earth.

Let us all aim at that simple, blissful Happiness as our goal of life.

The Purpose of Life

Today I told my son his purpose of life.

My son was very depressed and could not find any interest in his life. Unable to work, unable to earn money, unable to be happy, and totally discouraged and no interest to live.

So, I had to tell him that he has one primary purpose in his life.

And that is:

To be supportive and helpful to his brother and father (he already lost his mother and has no sisters) not with money but with love, feelings, caring words, and actions.

Next, to be helpful to his Elder-Father and his Elder-Mother (we call them like that only- his father’s brother and sister-in-law?).

To be helpful to his siblings (children of above).

To be helpful and supportive to his neighbors.

These are to be the actual purposes of the life of anybody, I believe.

It is not earning money, getting a respectable job, high status in the society, and enjoying yourself that should count.

The true purpose of anybody’s life is to be supportive and helpful to his people through caring words and activities. To his neighbors and the society around him.

Try to make the world a beautiful place for everybody living there in this world through mutual communications, affectionate feelings, and activities.

Passing Your Days Pleasantly

via dVerse Poets Pub: Silly Fashion

By reading the above-linked poetry, I got this thought about many people finding it difficult to pass their time.

There are many people I come across who complain that days are longer and they find it very difficult with such long periods getting passed peacefully or pleasantly. They find nothing to do except sitting idle or sleeping in their rooms.

This idle and vacant period gives birth to unnecessary thoughts and worries disturbing their mental peace and even their sleep also. They always remain tense and anxious about their life.

So, it becomes necessary for any person to spend his time ideally and fruitfully in a positive way.

Plan yourself and create some daily routine to fill the gaps of idleness.

You can concentrate on things like exercise, meditation, prayer, house-cleaning, gardening, reading, writing, marketing, attending to temples or worship places and other/or other public events, etc. You can even spend some time in parks, playfields, libraries, etc.

Get engaged in something or other and you will never find any spare time or idle time when you indulge in such activities.

Your health will improve and you can live happily and fully satisfied with your life.
